Stops on the Line
Union Station Project

Stops on the Line, an official project of the Burnham Plan Centennial is a new dance work addressing the history, architecture, and purpose of Chicago's Union Station.  Through physical movement and live musical accompaniment (composed and performed by Ian Hatcher), the piece evokes the intimate relationships and problematic social dynamics at the heart of the grand railway hub, tracing the rails out to a larger meditation on American transit and transience.

The Burnham Plan Centennial celebrates the Bold Plans and Big Dreams that shaped metropolitan Chicago for the past century and challenges our region’s communities, leaders and institutions to build on the success of the Burnham Plan and act boldly together to shape our future.
